From an idea of Citrus “The Italian Garden”, in collaboration with the Italian Fresh Produce Women Association the pink network of professionals and experts of the fruit and vegetables entire supply chain is now engaged with the ambitious goal of showing that the power of “being united” overcomes every taboo, such as the one that considers women unable to network and grow together!
The entire supply chain, from production to distribution through services and logistics up to communication, got involved to create an initiative that aims to enhance Italian seasonal fruit and vegetables, and at the same time to increase awareness in terms of proper nutrition and support to high level research. For each box sold, 0.50 Euro will be donated to Umberto Veronesi Foundation.
The challenge is now to sell at least 60,000 boxes of fruit and vegetables in order to finance a year work by a researcher involved in the study and treatment of female cancers.
